Trabuco Wild, let's keep it that way!
I
have become a part of a conservation effort with Silverado
Canyon, Warrior's Society and the Sierra Club to unify in
the fight against the suggested Transportation Corridor.
Should
the Transportation
Corridor precede we would lose our beloved Harding Truck
Trial, Modjeska Grade, the Lug, Holy Jim, Horse Thief
and others.
Though the Sierra Club has often been in opposition with
IMBA, the Trabuco Wild area has brought an alliance
of cause between
these two organizations. Of course, these peace talks are
still in process but parties within the National organization
of the Sierra Club and legal counsel of IMBA are hinting
of an agreement should we all (individuals, families,
clubs,
churches and businesses) need to come together in the fight
against the greater evil of a Transportation Corridor
running
from Riverside county into Orange county.
As
a sideline, I was asked to attend the IMBA Saturday
meeting during the LA Convention bike show to hear matters
concerning all mountain cyclists. The lists of meetings
regarding
trail conservation is growing. Last year, I attended a half
dozen of other meetings related to trail maintenance
and protection
of the Trabuco Wild area which included the Forest Service
meeting, Friends of the Canyon, National Conservation
Meeting
of Sierra Club in Shoshone desert, and IMBA.
Faithfully,
Alice Danta
