Years Biking: Started mtn biking when I turned 40, competitively last
4 yrs.

it all began…but not without a snap! Yup fractured
my lower back C-4 riding in Whiting with Elaine. Then a month later tore
my R shoulder! Off to a great start but having a blast. Hooked up with
the Trail Angels @ Women’s Only in 1999 & then raced my first
12 hour event where we placed 1st. 3/01 Warrior’s “Seek A
Peak” 24 mile race; 4/01 Camping motor home style at Sea Otter
race with Elaine; 8/01 Sedona T.A. trip; 11/01 riding the Solvang Century
with my husband; 3/02 Warrior’s Counting Coup race 40 miles; 4/02
Camping motor home style again at Sea Otter Race with Anne, James, Todd…;
5/02 Super D racing started combining the best of both worlds XC/DH;
6/02 WOW taught interm. XC with Jacke & Elaine; 7/02 Telluride’s
360 adventure race with Lynelle & our road trip stop at Moab’s
Slickrock, sleeping in my truck bed for a week; 9/02 Downieville racing
with son; 10/02 Fall Classic’s first DH race; 3/03 Sagebrush race
with a haunting night at Nomi’s; 4/03 Donna joined me for Sea Otter & we
hotel’d it; 6/03 cleaned Summit rock! at Gotta Thunder race; 7/03
Hi-Tec Heather’s 15 hr. San G adventure; 8/03 12 hr race (16 T.A.’s
raced & poduimed) 9/03 REI adventure race with 4 Angels; 1/04 Trail
Angel’s many prayers for Anne & I; 3/04 Warrior’s Vision
Quest race 52 miles with 6 T.A.’s making the cut offs & receiving
the “beaded feather”!) 7/04 Dolomiti Tour with 12 T.A.’s.
9/04 qualifying for US Championships at Mammoth; and endless road trips
to races with Donna Bella. I love how you all keep me young (but don’t
count the broken back & “ring” finger, torn shoulder,
sprained ankle, meniscus repair to knee, permanent dent to right butt
cheek!)
Remember: “the
only thing worse than the burning muscles and torn flesh is the pain
of
missing the action”
Other interests: family,
faith, snowboarding, horse, scuba diving, rock climbing, sewing & scrapbooking
and just keeping up with you ALL.
