This
quarter we wanted to honor one of our beloved members, Cheri
Haggard. She has truly been an inspiration
to all of us.
Here
is my chance to say thanks to all you Trail Angels. Thanks
to so many Angels who have offered
to help and are concerned about how I am doing, to those who
have had similar experiences and let me ask questions and more
questions (really my greatest need), for flowers and my great "No
Fear" cap to cover my bald (but cute) head, for those
of you who have kept me in your prayers (what a great strength)
and thanks to all the Angels who ride at different levels -
I always have someone to ride with, whether I have no strength
and need someone to hang with at the back of the pack or I'm
feeling a bit energetic and can jump ahead a pace or two and
you out in front who I am anxious to start chasing again -
give me a month or two - I'll be on your tails again! I love
the Friday ride - I know no matter what level I am at, I have
someone to ride with.
Recap
for those of you who have no idea what I am talking about
- Oct 2003 breast cancer diagnosis, surgery, chemo -
should be finished by the end of May, then still scheduled
for the rest of 2004 a couple more surgeries. And somewhere
in there hopefully will be my new bike and some good race before
the end of the year! I'm doing great, thanks for asking. How
am I handling it? This is one of those really big things that
is just another little thing. You get it; you take care of
it; you go on.

May 13, 2004
Hi everyone!
I just
wanted to let everyone know i'm all done with Chemo. And
enough weeks
have gone by for me to be feeing really
great again. I'm back running, biking and kayaking. I don't
have
that Chemo tired feeling any more. Now I have the "Oh,
I'm a Mom" tired feeling that I've had for the past
many years. gee, that feels good.
So,
thanks again for all of your love and prayers and calls
and letters and everything else.
And,
oh, yeah, just had to show this picture. My son wanted
his head shaved for Mother's Day so that we can race growing
our hair back! cute kidlet (and my hair is growing -
pretty sparse but it's about 1/4 inch now).

Do
not look forward with fear to what might happen tomorrow,
for the same everlasting Father that cared for you yesterday
will take care of you today, tomorrow, and every day. Either
He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you
the unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace then, and
put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginings.
