This
quarter we pay tribute to our dearest friend and fellow
Trail Angel, Deanna Maas. Here's
what her friends have to say:

It
is my privilege to be able to write a few words about our
Trail Angel of the month
Deanna Maas. I’ve watched Deanna’s riding skills grow in leaps
and bounds as well as her love for this group. I grew to know
and love Deanna because she didn’t come out to make a
point or be competitive, she just wanted to ride her bike and
was willing to persevere and become the best that she could
be. Anytime I would be training or feeling like I couldn’t
keep up, I would remember Deanna’s attitude of, make
it fun or why are you doing it?
Deanna’s personality
became contagious with the other women because of her sense
of humor and her love for life and
others. After only a few rides proposed to the group, she had
a huge following almost every Tuesday.
Her recent challenge
with thyroid cancer was embraced, even though it wasn’t
welcomed and again she demonstrated a good attitude and perseverance.
Only two weeks after taking
on a strong dose of radiation, she was back out on the trails
for her Tuesday ride with a smile as big as Saddleback Mountain!
Deanna has what
it takes to be a leader, and I’m going
to use the word “TRAIL” to describe what she has
demonstrated.
T eacher and is teachable
R eliable as a leader

Thanks Deanna for
all you’ve done for me when I needed
to be loved and encouraged, for being a leader who loves to
develop leaders and modeling the love for this group that I
know has made it grow into what God wants it to be.
God Bless You
Ethel (Anna F.)
Her
nickname is Lucy! After Lucille Ball, if anyone has ridden
with Deanna they will know how she got this
name. She is very fun to ride with, and crazy & funny
situations just seem to find her. The
picture I attached is a picture of Deanna for those who have
not seen her without dirt and a helmet on her. I could
go on and on with my Deanna stories, but I think every Trail
Angel should go on a ride with her and form some of your
own stories. Trust me they will happen with Deanna/Lucy.

Spring
is in bloom as so is Deanna...Pink, Classy, Sunshine
Girlie girl who likes to get in the
mud sometimes. Great leader to her trail girls as well
as her students. We love you !
Laura England What can I say about Deanna? She is so
fun to be around and she makes you feel so comfortable.
She is a very strong individual with a heart of gold.
I look forward to riding with her more often and growing
in our friendship.

I’ll
never forget all the hard work you put in towards the “great
awareness fair” and
sincere love you have shown throughout the year to all
us angels. You are “mother angel” to me!
Anyone can feel at home with you around. I admire your
spirit !!! You should be teacher of the year too! Luv

Deanna got me started with this group 2 and a half years
ago and it's been so rewarding in so many ways. Through
it all, she has always looked out for everyone else,
even through her illness she was organizing dinners for
others. She is always a giver, always upbeat and a wonderful
friend. She always makes me look forward to Tuesdays!

Many
memories you are investing in each Angel on your devoted
Tuesday morning rides. It has been
a privilege to meet you when you first started
out. Now
we have been able to watch each other grow, encourage one another and most
of all pray for the need of our beloved Trail Angel. May we have much more
fun in the sun. The smile on your face and tender hearted words makes our
mornings extra special. We all look forward
to your leadership & ready to role in
the dirt. You are an amazing lady who has shown us determination, self confidence & a
passion to over come & accomplish the hurdles in life. To our friend
this months for you!
May
the Lord Bless in His Glory
