This quarter we wanted to honor our beloved Jody Marcon. Here is what her fellow Angels have to say about her.

To the Fabulous Jody!

The warmth that flows through you, we don't need the sun. You are such an amazing lady. Full of encouragement, full of kindness, full of white teeth (always smiling), full of the great Lord that lives in you. YOU have made this team special. Thanks to your parents for the mountain bike they gave you 19 years ago.............???? You made that bike look like it had wings. It didn't hold you back climbing, climbing, climbing. You are amazing. Keep shining Jody because we all LOVE YOU!

Maribel

You Go Foxy Jo.....

Jody..you're an all around bundle of fun..go, go girl on the bike, and on the surf board. Always willing to help others with a big smile on your face. Thanks Jody for all the happy fun times and for your contagious spirit.

Congratulations Jodester,

You're the best. You are the epitome of energy. You are the future spokesperson for the energizer bunny. Not only are you a great friend on the trail, you are a great buddy off as well. You've been a shoulder to cry on, a mentor of wisdom and guidance and when times are rough you remind us to keep a light spirit and sense of humor to pull through. When we ride you always take the extra credit loops with me and I never hear you whine. You always encourage us and I've seen nothing less than your cheerful smile. You are a natural leader. Thanks for being such a great friend.

Love Ched

Jody has been a big encouragement for me. She was there on my first ride with the trailangels. Jody made me feel so welcomed, that I don't know why I felt so intimidated to come. Jody is a nutural cheerleader. She always has a big smile and has no qualms on yelling at other girl riders to come ride with us. I always look forward to a ride with Jody.

“JUST JODY”

Every woman in the Trail Angel group is special to me. Their personalities make a delightful contribution to make up the incredible dynamics of this woman’s mountain biking club that has created numerous friendships and lasting memories. However, this Trail Angel who always says to me on the phone or e-mail, “Hey Jacke, it’s just Jody!” is our Trail Angel model of spirituality, fun, laughter, encouragement and just knows how to be a friend. I think she is by far the most optimistic person that I’ve every met!

Jody has been there for me and this group is so many ways. Just this past year as I experienced adrenal exhaustion, Jody was there for me sharing conversations of encouragement, cards, books and just Jody love. I am so very thankful that she sought me out at the top of Cholla in Aliso Woods while she was riding alone, my life and all those who know her have been blessed!

Love Ya,

Jacke

Why I love being a Trail Angel...

by Jody Marcon

We ride together.
We play together.
We crash together.
We pray together.
We surf, hike and ski together. We do lots of stuff together.
BUT, we also laugh together and cry together, heck we even go for counseling together.
We trick each other and save each other and some angels even fart together. (But, I would never...)

Some angels take meals to each other, others moon each other, some do both.

Some still wear underwear under their bike shorts, but most don't.

We put band-aids on our cuts and pick cactus out of our butts.

We all carry something stupid that might stop a mountain lion, just in case.

We take lots of pictures, and I have a special book filled with images of incredible FUN!

We travel together. We EAT A LOT. And we all know to just order a salad and sit by Deanna.

We work together and we celebrate together and we even get to HULA HOOP together!

So I ask...
Where else can I find crazy women who like to get dirty and then go out to lunch?
Where else would I find someone as crazy about moose as I am?
Where else would I meet someone who screams YEEHAH so loud she can't drive?
(Speaking of which, the Trail Angels are not good drivers.)
Where else can I find God on the trail, but with the Trail Angels?

So I say...
God has blessed me so much! The Trail Angels are a perfect example of my favorite scripture where Jesus says,
" I came that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10b (That is exceedingly superabundant, over and above extraordinary!)

God has blessed me abundantly in my fellowship with the Trail Angels. And I've learned that summing up God's Kingdom in one word is............................relationship. (Thanks Heather.)
It is connecting with each other. It is love.
And for that, I love being a Trail Angel.
